Shamanic practitioner · animistic ritualist · rune keeper · sacred tobacco ceremony
Kirsten Lovett's path began not through choice but through crisis — a spiritual emergency intersecting with physical illness that forced her into relationship with the unseen world before she had a name for what was happening. What she found there changed everything.
Over the following years she sought out teachers, lineages, and the spirits themselves. She was initiated into the Q'ero Pampamisayoq tradition as a misa carrier in 2011 and has maintained regular offerings and ceremonies to those spirits and the Apus ever since. In 2012 she began working with sacred tobacco — mapacho — drawing from indigenous traditions across North, Central, and South America. That relationship has continued for over a decade, showing up in ceremony, in weather work, in the shamanic journeys she facilitates, and in daily practice.
Since 2020 she has trained in the Nordic Ritual Arts of the Völva, Runes, and Galdr under Ivy Mulligan and Merissa Lovett. She has also studied Nepalese shamanism with Bhola Banstola, working with the Bhairungs and the elements.
She does not claim strict lineage authority in all the traditions she has walked. Her guides have shown her that her role is something else — what she calls the sacred maître'd. There is a great spiritual ballroom filled with thousands of tables, each one a different spirit ally, a different tradition, a different path. She walks that ballroom herself, every day, through her own practice. And when someone arrives, she does not seat them at her table. She shows them to their own.
She has been walking that ballroom for over a decade. She teaches Sacred Tobacco ceremony, Weather Spirit Work, Shamanic Journeying, and Norse Rune and Galdr practice. She co-runs the Shamanic Earth Medicine Patreon community with her sister Merissa Lovett, and leads the Singing the Runes immersion series.
Her work has also been published in an academic context — available on Academia.edu.
